Pink Wedding Cakes

There are so many aspects and details to consider for your wedding, from the flowers, to the wedding colors, to the food being served - and the cake! A good budget saving tip to have only a small cake created for the presentation/cake cutting and then buying sheet cakes to serve out for the guests. This cuts down on the decoration needed for a larger wedding cake and in the end can save you money to spend elsewhere on the wedding (or to save for the honeymoon).

Here are some inspiration cakes with a pink colored themed for you to browse through and hopefully inspire you for your wedding cake.

Ceremony Traditions: Make Your Own Unity Candle

A unity candle is a ceremony that represents the joining of two families. It uses two tapered candles (usually lit by the mother’s of the bride and groom) which are used to light a larger pillar candle (the unity candle) by the bride and groom. The couple can then save and keep the unity candle to relight on their anniversaries.

unity-candle-weddingHere a few ideas on how to create your own unity candle:
- Obtain a plain, white pillar candle to use as your base.
- Decorate the pillar candle with matching organza ribbon in the colors of your wedding.
- Decorate a piece of cardstock paper embossed or stamped with your names and the date of your wedding.
- Use tissue paper to stamp on a symbol, your names, a quote or other details of the wedding or couple. Use an embossing gun to carefully heat the candle and adhere the tissue paper to the base of the candle. See this blog article about embossing candles.
- Create a mosiac pattern on the candle. Make a simple shape such as the outline of 2 hearts together.

Table numbers are a simple project that you can assign to yourself, a bridesmaid, or a friend who would like to help out with the wedding. They add a unique touch to the wedding reception and creating them yourself is easy and a money saver. Coordinate your table numbers to match your wedding’s color and theme and you’ve got a great looking piece for your wedding reception!

Here are a few ideas for creating your own simple and elegant table numbers.

  • Buy a set of business card sheets or create your own template or download a template for the exact measurements of the table numbers. Visit the Avery web site (http://www.avery.com) for free software that will help you create your table numbers. You can also find pre-made templates that you can use in Word.
  • For your fonts: You can use stickers, rubber stamps, or download a nice font to create the numbers. Or, you can neatly print the number onto the cards. Some good places to get some cheap or free fonts are: Two Peas in a Bucket, ScrapVillage, and Scrap n Fonts.
  • Use colors and paper that match your wedding colors.
  • Embellish the table numbers with pretty stickers, rubber stamps, or diamond dots (featured in the photo sample).
