DIY Wedding Favors: Bath Salts
Aug 27, 2010 Creative Wedding Ideas, The Reception, Weddings, Weddings, Weddings
Create some simple bath salts as a favor for your wedding or your bridal shower. It’s a great and simple bath product that’s inexpensive, pretty, and fragrant for your guests. Be sure to use a pretty container all dolled up for simple packaging and presentation.
Here’s a simple recipe to create your own Bath Salts:
- 1 cup rock/sea salt
- 1 cup epsom salts
- 2 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda
- about 15 drops of essential oil of your choice, such as lavender, rose, vanilla, citrus or peppermint (adjust accordingly to your preference. Be careful to avoid getting undiluted essential oils in contact with your skin as this may result in a skin reaction in some people)
Mix together the salts in a metal or glass mixing bowl. Sift in the bi-carbonate of soda and stir with a metal spoon to combine. Add your essential oil of choice, and mix salts together thoroughly.
At this point you can also add dried flower petals or herbs (such as dried lavender or rose petals). Some people also like to add food colouring, which will result in a coloured bath. If using liquid food dyes, just add a few drops until you achieve the desired colour.
Spoon salts into jars and close them. Use corked or lidded jars or different shaped jars for variety.
Tie a ribbon in your wedding colors around the top of the jar. Make a gift tag with the name of the scent and suggested use of 1/3 to 1/2 cup in the bath.

Sweet Wedding Send Off’s
Aug 18, 2010 The Ceremony, The Reception
There are a ton of different ways for you and your future spouse to get the proper send-off after you wedding. We’ve seen a host of the traditional send-offs, such as rice and bird seed, but what other ways can you get your guests involved in giving you a beautiful wedding send-off? Here’s a list of a few of our favorite ways to send a couple off after their wedding.
Confetti
Confetti, especially released from poppers, can have a really exciting and beautiful effect. Be sure to use a biodegradable confetti for your wedding send-off to keep things green and environmentally friendly.
Falling Leaves
If you have the time and inclination for your fall wedding, having some falling leaves as your wedding send-off could be a really cute idea! It could get a little messy though, but it’s all natural and should only cost you some time instead of money.
Ribbons wands can give your wedding send-off a flurry of excitement as your guests gather around and swish ribbons as you head out. No clean up required here, either! Just pretty ribbons flowing all around.
Bubbles
Everyone loves wedding bubbles and they do make for some pretty wedding pictures!
