The hanging garland is a very creative way of decorating your reception or bridal shower venue. There are a multitude of materials you can use to make your garland unique, from buttons, to fabric pieces, paper plates and tissue paper, but here we'll show you how to create a Favor Garland decorated with doilies which can be used as a prize garland for your Bridal Shower, or a gift garland for the actual Wedding Day.

Favor Garlands for Everyone!

 
 
     
Supplies
{ colorful, letter-sized paper, 10-inch doilies, glue, double-sided tape, regular tape, monofilament, scissors, decorative scissors, ruler, pen }
  Mark Fold Guides
{ place your sheet of paper, landscape orientation, against the ruler. Place a mark on # 5 and #8, these are your fold marks }
     
 
     
Fold & Crease
{ fold the right edge of the paper towards the center, aligning with mark #5 }
  Fold & Crease
{ fold the left edge of the paper towards the center making sure the edges overlap 1/2" (inch) }
     
 
     
Cut
{ with your decorative scissors, cut bothe edges of the paper }
  Cut
{ both edges should be decoratively cut }
     
 
     
Add Glue
{ open your folded paper makind and add glue to the bottom edge }
  Add Glue
{ add glue to the left edge of the paper making sure it is only applied to 1/2" (inch) }
     
 
     
Fold & Seal
{ fold the right side of the paper and press firmly on the bottom to seal shut }
  Fold & Seal
{ fold the left side of the paper and press firmly on the bottom and middle to seal shut }
     
 
     
Fold Bottom
{ fold the bottom of the now sealed paper, 1/2" (inch) }
  Flat Bag is Formed
{ you now have a perfect, flat favor bag }
     
 
     
Crease
{ to form a triangular shaped bag, press the edges across from each other and crease the center }
  Triangular Bag is Formed
{ your triangular bag is formed }
     
 
     
Fold the Doily
{ fold the doily about 1/3" of the way up }
  Decorate
{ you can decorate your doily with a Wedding Logo or Stamps, here we've used our logo printed on paper }
     
 
     
Glue Logo
{ cut out and glue your logo positioned on the front of the doily }
  Get Monofilament & Doily
{ to start the garland, we've used monofilament, but you can use any type of hanging material }
     
 
     
Tape Monofilament
{ leaving 18" of monofilament on the left of the doily (to tie & attache) tape the monofilament on the inside, center of the crease and glue the doily together }
  Press & Seal
{ press firmly on the doily to seal }
     
 
     
Adding Notes or Gifts
{ add a note or a small favor to the Favor bags }
  Glue
{ add glue to the inside edge of the Favor bags}
     
 
     
Press Together
{ press the opposite ends together }
  Press Closed
{ press firmly and seal closed }
     
 
     
Get Monofilament & Favor Bag
{ get monofilament and leave a 3" (inch) space from the doily }
  Add Double-Sided Tape
{ add a 1" (inch) piece of double-sided tape on the inside, center crease }
     
 
     
Run through Crease
{ pass the monofilament through the crease making sure it is caught by the tape }
  Press & Seal
{ press firmly to seal }
     
 
     
Complete
{ your Favor Garland is complete!! Try using different colors and patterns for each Favor Bag to match your colors }
