Small
responsible choices can make a large impact on the environment
when
planning your Wedding Day.
You don't have to plan an entire "Green Wedding"
but do take a look
at the following for ideas on how to "Green Your Day".
Ceremony & Reception
Location... By booking your ceremony
and reception in one location, you and your guests will enjoy
your celebration more by knowing you are cutting down on
unnecessary waste and expenses.
If you do have your Ceremony & Reception
at two locations, book within walking distance or look into
the Old Town Trolley to transport guests to the Reception
location.
Old Town Trolley, is environmentally friendly... running on propane
gas and they offer a White Trolley, with capacity of 22.
Catering... Organic and Local does not
mean... More Expensive! When meeting with your Caterer, discuss
using seasonal, locally grown produce. Wow your guests with a
signature dish, created by all Local and Organic products!
Carbon
Offsets... Giving back to
the environment through Carbon Offsets is so easy! Visit Carbonfund.org and
use the easy calculator. For example, if you have a guest
coming from San Francisco to San Diego for your Wedding by
airplane, the Carbon Offset would be $1.71. Not much! The
carbon offset represents a reduction in emissions somewhere
else, to balance out the emissions you cannot reduce. Also,
carbon offsets are the only way to get your carbon footprint
to zero today. For more information, please visit carbonfund.org.
Tree In
A Box... A perfect 'green'
wedding favor! Let your guests mark the special occasion
of your wedding by planting a tree as you give them a Tree
In A Box. This is a great way to give back to nature with
organic, recycled and recycable materials. Personalize each
box with your name and wedding date, and choose a tree that
best represents you and your husband to be. Visit Tree
In A Box for more information.
