After all is said and done and the papers signed... How do you make your first appearance in to the room as a newly married couple? Generally known as the wedding march, it usually consists of you and the wedding party, or really anyone who holds any specific importance to you. It's also an opportunity to be creative and increase the energy at your reception. You can get your guests involved by having the DJ make everyone form two rows on either side of the room so that a walkway is formed for the two of you to walk down. If you have a beach themed wedding you can enter the room on surfboards carried by all the attendants and groomsmen. Anyway you do it, mixing and matching tradition with non-tradition is a unique way to express yourself and your style. In the end, the key to any good entrance is to make sure the stage is set and that everything is thought through beforehand.

One of the hottest trends for wedding gowns this year is simplicity. Many brides are opting for a more classic, simple gown rather than the more traditional beaded gowns. You'll find that todays gowns are more body conscious, practical designs and are using colors such as soft pinks and antique beiges, which are all a part of this season’s trends. Today's brides are more mature and are looking for a more sophisticated, sexy, modern look. To capture this look for your wedding you'll want to stick to soft fabrics like chiffon, organza and charmeuse and cuts such as the empire waist and gowns that have fluidity. Opt for no veil or use a very simple lace or tulle veil. Jewelry should be minimal and understated with minimal embellishment. For inspriration look to popular designers such as Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera’s understated chic gowns. |

When planning a wedding coming up with a guest list is probaby the hardest task most couples must tackle. The second task is deciding whether or not children will be allowed to the event. Once you've made the decision to incorporate children in to your guest list it is important to have fun things
set-up for them to do while their parents enjoy themselves at your wedding. Here at San Diego Wedding Insider we have come up with some fun and creative
ways to keep them entertained.
Having a childrens table at the reception let's them entertain themselves with other children and gives comfort to the
parents knowing that their child is having fun and isn't left out. It's also a good idea to have the table set-up somewhere where it's visible from all sides of the room so parents can keep an eye on their little ones. Once that's established here comes the fun part... One creative idea for the childrens table is to wrap their table in white construction paper, this not only gives them something to draw on, but saves you money on cleaning bills for the linens. Second, instead of a floral centerpiece for their table you could decorate a pail with your wedding theme and arrange crayons inside for them to draw with. This allows them to be creative and will also keep them occupied during the reception.
Most couples choose to give away candy as favors for their guest. While candy is loved by ALL children, most parents aren't always pleased with the effect
candy has on their little ones. So to save a few parents some headaches, one idea would be to give away small containers of Play-Doh. You can buy these
small individual containers at any toy store and they come in a variety of colors. Another idea would be a small craft that you can buy at any art store.
Whether it be a paint by the numbers kit, or a small sticker book with stickers the possibilties are endless.
While most of us these days are on strict budgets, this might not always be the most cost effective way to entertain, but should you have the budget for it,
one thing you could do would be to hire a balloon artist. These whimsical creations are always a hit with children... and some adults too.
The important thing to keep in mind is that this is your day and entertaining all your guests is a huge priority. Every bride wants to make sure their
guests are having fun and enjoying themselves at their wedding. Whether their the little kind or not. |
